As you meander the boardwalk that skirts the village of Cheticamp you will happen upon The Love Boat and its companion, The Love Boat 1 awaiting your arrival for the sensation of a lifetime.  After boarding the vessel the full compliment of guests are alive and tingling with the excitement of a new adventure and expectations are high.  Our Captain sweeps past the marker buoy that designates the entrance of Cheticamp Harbor and we ascertain that the safety of the protective harbor is behind us and our 3 hour adventure in the Gulf and dance with the whales and nature is about to commence.  The village and landmass of The Cape Breton Highlands.

Situated on the scenic Cabot Trail, Joe's Scarecrows has been visited by travelers from all over the world.
Back in the mid 1980's,Mr Delaney had tried to make a garden on his land next to the main road.The neighbors had told him not to bother because the crows would eat all the vegetables from his garden.To outsmart these scavengers,Joe,being a huge fan of the Mi-Carême,put up 2 scarecrows dressed in funny costumes and masks.The very next morning there were a few cars stopped on the roadside,whose occupants were admiring  the life-like scarecrows.Among the visitors were a couple from California who suggested to Joe to forget about his garden and to spend his time building more Mi-Carêmes.This is the story of the birth of the scarecrow theatre in St-Joseph- du -Moine.
Joe and his son began making more mi-Carêmes and eventually had a field full of these characters who represented all walks of life.Each of them has a story behind it.Unlike any attraction you have ever seen.
In 1996,Mr.Delaney passed away but his family have kept the tradition alive.
