Hiking

Laurie's is located in beautiful Chéticamp on the western gateway to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, which is the most scenic part of the Cabot Trail. The park is one of the last remaining tracks of protected wilderness in Nova Scotia.
It offers 27 hiking trails, 11 (listed below) within a 1/2 hour's drive from Laurie's, ranging from 20 minute strolls to challenging overnight adventures.
Moose, black bears and  bald eagles are just a few of the wildlife you'll discover along the way. For the non-hikers, the many look-offs offer breathtaking views where one may see pilot whales frolicking or minke whales breaching in the coastal waters.
During your stay with us, the staff at Laurie's will be pleased to provide you with additional information.
