The Complex

Laurie's was established in 1938 and the original hornestead was operated as a Bed & Breakfast by Laurie Chiasson. Since 1938, many changes and upgrades have occurred at Laurie's Motor Inn. Almost 2 million has been invested to increase the nurnber of bedroorns, expand the Dining Room and add conference rooms. Laurie's Motor Inn was the recipient of the TIANS 1993 Accommodation Award.

The Homestead has nine bedrooms - 8 with two double beds and I with one queen bed. The Dining Room and the Cocktail Lounge / Conference Room are also located in this section. All rooms in the Homestead House are completely renovated motel-style units.

The Harbourview, located bchind The Homestead, has 20 rooms with open balcony decks. On the lower level there are 8 motel-style rooms and 2 suites each with two queen beds and a whirlpool. On the upper level there are ten rooms including junior suites and suites with king beds and sofa beds. Upper level rooms overlook Cheticamp Harbor.

The Highlander has 24 oversize bedrooms. The Front Desk registration Area, lobby and conference room are also located in The Highlander. The lower level has 12 rooms which offer oversize bathrooms,some rooms have two queen beds. The upper level has 12 rooms which offer private balconies overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Cape Breton Highlands; some rooms have king beds, two queen beds or two double beds. A brldal suite with a king bed and a whirlpool for two is located in The Highlander.

Laurie's has two private homes which are availabIe during the summer months. These homes are complete housekeeping units and are perfect for families. Laurie's has a total of 53 bedrooms - 1 bridal suite, 5 suites with queen beds, 5 junior suites with king beds, 42 regular rooms with two doubles or two queen beds.
